Our wooden products are made to be used, displayed and enjoyed. With a little care, they should continue to look beautiful for years to come.
Wood is a natural material, so each piece may vary slightly in grain, tone and character. These small differences are part of what makes handmade wooden pieces feel warm, personal and unique.
Caring for hardwood products
Hardwood pieces are best cared for with gentle, regular cleaning. Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, then dry the surface straight away.
Avoid soaking the wood or leaving water sitting on the surface. Although our finishes are chosen to help protect the wood, prolonged moisture can still mark or damage natural timber over time.
For everyday dusting, a dry microfibre cloth is usually enough. For light cleaning, use a barely damp cloth and avoid harsh household cleaners.
What to avoid
To keep your wooden piece looking its best, please avoid:
• Dishwashers or soaking in water
• Harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive pads
• Leaving spills, condensation or wet items on the surface
• Direct heat from radiators, ovens, candles or hot pans
• Prolonged direct sunlight, which can change the colour of natural wood
• Very damp rooms or outdoor exposure unless the product is specifically described as suitable for that use
Painted and layered signs
Painted and layered signs should be handled gently and kept indoors unless clearly stated otherwise.
Dust with a soft dry cloth. If needed, wipe lightly with a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid scrubbing raised details, edges or delicate lettering.
These pieces are decorative and should not be soaked, exposed to heavy moisture or cleaned with abrasive products.
Natural wood variation
Every piece of wood is different. Grain direction, knots, colour variation and natural markings may vary from product to product.
We choose and finish each piece carefully, but small differences are part of working with real wood. They are not faults — they are part of the character and beauty of the material.
